Argus Companies Expands Board to Support Continued Growth

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas — As Argus Companies, Inc. continues to expand its engineering, construction management, and SaaS services, the company has taken an important step in strengthening its governance and strategic leadership by expanding its board of directors with the addition of six new members.

This balanced board expansion combines external expertise in SaaS, innovation, M&A, and risk management, with internal perspectives from the three subsidiary presidents for day-to-day operations and opportunities.

“The combination of external expertise and internal knowledge is paramount to this next phase of our company’s growth,” said Kent Bredehoeft, President, CEO and Chairman of Argus Companies. “We are adding deep expertise in technology and business growth, while bringing operational insights to the forefront of our governance. The combination of external expertise and internal knowledge ensures that we remain innovative, agile, and committed to delivering exceptional client value.”

New external experts to the Board:

  • Edward (Trip) Frizell: A seasoned corporate lawyer, Trip played a pivotal role in navigating the complexities of Argus Companies’ recent restructuring. He will serve as corporate secretary.
  • Colette LaForce: With expertise in SaaS, innovation, and mergers, Colette also offers deep experience in sales growth and strategy, particularly in emerging energy and technology sectors.
  • Scott Coons: Co-founder of Lenexa-based Perceptive Software (later acquired by Lexmark), Scott specializes in advising fast-growing software companies. He will serve as a special consultant to SAIM and board advisor.

New internal leadership to the Board:

  • Chris Straub: As President of Argus Consulting, Inc., Chris leads Argus’ engineering and planning operations, driving technical excellence and innovation.
  • Don Summers: As President of Argus Construction Management, Don is focused on building and scaling our construction management capabilities while ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Tina Lux-Boim: As President of SAIM, Tina brings extensive experience in SaaS business growth and digital transformation, guiding our expansion into aviation and beyond.

Existing board leadership:

  • Kent Bredehoeft: Serving as CEO & Chairman of the Board since 2010, Kent continues to lead Argus’ strategic vision, governance, and long-term direction.
  • Rajan Sheth: Former CEO of Mead & Hunt, Rajan has been an external board member and continues to provide valuable experience in growth and scaling within the engineering industry, while maintaining company culture and values.

Argus Companies also bids a heartfelt farewell to co-founder and long-time leader Steve Waag, who retired from the board in January. Steve’s decades of mentorship and leadership leave a legacy at Argus and within the fuel infrastructure world, and he will be missed.

“Steve played a pivotal role in shaping Argus, and we are grateful for the foundation he helped build and for the time he gave during our firm’s restructuring,” said Bredehoeft. “As we look ahead, our expanded board brings fresh perspectives and strategic insight to tackle complex challenges, seize opportunities, and drive long-term growth.”
